The Manager of Regulatory and Fraud is responsible for managing the credit union’s regulatory compliance and fraud risk functions-as well as transaction based risks and related regulatory reporting. The position is responsible for providing related guidance and support services to the credit union in the form of information/policy, incident assistance and management, training and acting as an appropriate liaison when necessary. As the Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer, this role is responsible for implementing Fusion and reporting entity subsidiaries anti-money laundering compliance regime in accordance with FINTRAC regulations.

The Director of Credit Risk provides strategic leadership and oversight for Fusion’s credit risk function, with accountability for supporting the quality, profitability, efficiency, and overall risk management of Fusion’s loan portfolio. As a key senior leader, this position works closely with the Credit Risk team, Lending Solutions (agricultural and commercial lending), Operations, and other internal partners to support responsible loan growth, sound credit decision-making, portfolio quality, credit recovery, compliance, and the continued security of the credit union. This role is well suited to a collaborative and experienced credit risk leader who can balance prudent risk management with practical, member-focused solutions.
• Support the development, review, and continuous improvement of credit risk policies, standards, reporting, and governance practices.
• Analyze portfolio trends and emerging risks, providing recommendations and actionable insights to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with Executive Management and operational leaders to identify, assess, and respond to emerging credit risks and strategic opportunities. Oversee operational credit risk activities, including adjudication, portfolio monitoring, credit recovery, reporting, and continuous improvement of credit risk processes.
• Provide effective guidance, challenge, and support to lending teams while promoting responsible, member-focused credit decisions.
• Support quality loan growth by contributing credit risk expertise to business development, lending initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen credit risk management practices, portfolio oversight, and operational effectiveness.
• Provide credit risk expertise to organizational projects and initiatives, offering practical guidance and challenge to support informed decision-making and implementation.
• Act as a primary liaison for credit risk matters with regulators, auditors, legal counsel, syndication partners, and other external stakeholders, providing information, insights, and support related to credit risk management, portfolio quality, and lending practices.
• Provide independent review, challenge, and recommendations on significant credit exposures, policy exceptions, and emerging portfolio risks.
• Foster strong working relationships across departments, promoting collaboration, consistency, and effective communication.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Credit Risk team, creating a respectful, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
• A post-secondary degree in business or another relevant discipline.
• Seven to nine years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong credit adjudication, portfolio management, risk management, and lending knowledge.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and support employees in a collaborative team environment.
• A sound understanding of credit union policies, regulatory requirements, and prudent lending practices.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Credit Union Institute of Canada (CUIC) Business Lender Accreditation is considered an asset.
Compensation for this position is $116,099 - $148,122 per annum. Fusion also offers a competitive total compensation package, including comprehensive benefits and pension, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Note – the successful candidate(s) will provide support to multiple community branches from designated base sites. Candidates must also have a drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle.
